Acoustic Evenings With Val Boyers

Val Boyers, local singer & guitarist based in Teesside plays acoustic covers of well known songs with her own twist. Her style is relaxed, ambient music which works perfectly in the Restaurant at Chapters Hotel. Val’s inspiration came from growing up with music, and after recording a ‘demo’ CD in 2005 she was inspired to perform live at various local venues.  

Over the last few years Val has built up an extensive repertoire with over 150 songs by over 100 different artists!  It’s hard to tell you in just a few sentences the kind of music Val sings but in her own words… 

“ My style is relaxed, acoustic music to create a great atmosphere…  I play acoustic guitar and sing covers of well-known songs, old and new.  If you spend an evening with me you could hear,

 I Say A Little Prayer (Aretha Franklin), It’s Too Late (Carole King) or Just The Two Of Us (Bill Withers) right through to Rolling In The Deep (Adele), In Your Eyes (Kylie) or Upside Down (Paloma Faith). 

One of my personal favorites is Valerie by The Zutons which was covered brilliantly by Amy Winehouse.  I also love singing Eva Cassidy’s songs. There are so many to choose from but I love singing Wade In The Water and Songbird.  I try to incorporate lots of different styles and genre’s of music and I usually find there’s something for everyone…”

Val will be playing in the restaurant twice a month on a Friday in 2012. These evenings are perfect when entertaining friends, family’s and loved ones, her music is  the perfect accompaniment for your dining experience.
