Chapter’s Hotel & Restaurant won the highly acclaimed Flavours of Hambleton Restaurant of the year award for the fourth year running as well as picking up the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Steven Bell, Owner of Chapters Hotel and Restaurant would like to thank both the team and our customers for the success.
“When we won last year we thought it would be hard for the Judges not to find another restaurant to win the award. So to win it for a fourth year in a row was WOW! We work consistently hard at delivering great food and Customer service. Everyone plays their part in the team to ensure we meet these expectations. The Front of House, the Hotel, Reception, Our creative Kitchen brigade and not forgetting the Chambermaid – the team that the customer rarely sees.
“I would like to say thank you to Flavours of Hambleton for holding the awards the sponsor Darlington Stockton Times and Grand Central and the Judges for the task of visiting so many places. Entering wards make you look at your business, what you do well and what you can improve in your business. That’s why we enter not for the Trophy but as a way of self-assessment. Without the sponsors it would not be possible.”
A sixth year that would be tough maybe we should sponsor the award
Here’s what the Judges had to say…
“Since 2008 the Chapter’s team has been making constant improvements to the quality of food and service – The head Chef and their team have brought their own distinctive style of cooking to this market town favourite. They are passionate about food, all of which is freshly made to order with the menus changing with the seasons. Everything is sourced locally wherever possible – the use of local companies is important to Chapters. And everything is cooked to exacting standards – and with a real flair for presentation in beautifully stylish surroundings.”
Outstanding Achievement Award
“Now this one is a little bit special – the judges were unanimous in their decision that is should go to a business that has made a massive contribution to the world of food and drink in Hambleton and is one that should be looked up to by others. The winner has become a regular fixture at this event – and it is… Chapter’s of Stokesley.”
“Sited in Stokesley’s market place, the listed hotel goes back some 250 years and its character and charm has been blended into a modern contemporary feel. The restaurant and brasserie has won countless awards with an enthusiastic team who are devoted to giving guests first class service from the moment they walk through the door. As you heard before the chefs source only the finest ingredients for the ever changing menu – with as many as possible found locally to boost local businesses as well as reducing the carbon footprint. Its aim to promote the local area is followed through with the website and three podcasts. When Steven Bell took over the hotel it had three employees – now there are 30 and 75% of them are local to Stokesley! The hotel sponsors local events and supports local charities – it is truly a business Hambleton is proud to have within its boundaries.”
For the third consecutive year, Chapter’s Hotel & Restaurant have won the Restaurant of the Year award at the Flavours of Hambleton Awards, which were held at Thirsk Racecourse on Thursday 19th November.
Chapter’s would like to thank everyone who voted them into the finals!!
